Håkan´s first instrument, however, was piano.Which he started to play when he was eight years old. .But it was when he started to play the saxophone at 15 that he decided to become a musician. The first saxophone was a tenor but after a few years he switched to alto and then added the soprano.The first gigs were with local blues bands but pretty soon the interest in jazz took over and Håkan discovered players like Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane. Håkan also admired altoist Cannonball Adderley´s sound which became a major influence in his search for his own sound.

The flute ,has Håkan mostly been playing in different big band projects during the years....
